F 30/30

International & Indian Youth Competition

The F30/30 program has two sections - International and Indian Youth. The International Youth section will compete for the Golden Comma Award. The Indian Youth section will compete for the Silver Comma Award. Both sections will have a Fiction and Non-fiction category. Please read the rules below carefully before submitting your films.

Rules & Terms

  • F30/30 welcomes entries from across the world.
  • The filmmaker must be under 30 years of age at the time of completion of the film.
  • Submission is open to all young filmmakers and is not limited to students' films.
  • Only live-action films.
  • Duration of minimum two minutes and maximum 30 minutes (original production length - no modified/shortened versions)
  • Film(s) produced on or after the 11th of October 2020
  • Films can only be submitted in either the fiction or non-fiction category in the International or Indian competition section.
  • Films directed by Indian nationals and submitted in the International Competition section (by paying the international fee) will automatically be eligible for the Indian competition section and will be considered for both the Golden and Silver Comma Award.
  • Indian nationals who submit their films to the Indian Competition section (by paying the Indian fee) will not qualify for the International competition and will only be eligible for the Silver Comma Award.
  • Indian filmmakers who want to compete for both awards must submit their films to the International Competition section only.
  • The Indian competition section is open to films produced in India by an Indian national only.
  • Films made by current students of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad are NOT eligible for the competition program.
  • The festival will award certificates to all the shortlisted filmmakers.
  • The filmmakers must acquire all necessary rights for all music, image, video and any other material used in the films.
  • The filmmakers will be informed about their selections by the festival team. The festival/ the jury will not provide individual feedback to films that are not selected.
  • Films made in languages other than English must have English subtitles.
  • The film submissions can only be made via FilmFreeway.
  • Selected films will be screened at least once at Alpavirama and for a maximum of five times with partner institutions of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
  • Selected films will also be screened online through our streaming partner.
  • Selected filmmakers will be required to share a crew and cast list as a word document.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable.
  • Once selected, the films cannot be withdrawn from the festival.
  • Alpavirama or the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad will not be liable for any costs claimed as a result of a change in scheduling.
