F 30/30

International & Indian Youth Competition

This year, Alpavirama is growing from a Global South festival to an International festival, inviting filmmakers from around the world. The festival will retain its Youth focus and is happy to announce the F30/30 Competition program, inviting filmmakers under 30 years of age and films under 30 minutes in duration. We hope to nurture and develop a practice around films and filmmaking that encourages young people to experiment with film as a form both in the fiction and non-fiction genres. With the focus on youth, we aim to establish connections between young people from across the world as a way to build solidarity in this post-pandemic world. Since Alpavirama 2020 had a pandemic focus, this was brought on as a natural next step to the festival's program. We look forward to receiving short films that help us take a precious pause for a brief amount of time to reflect and repose.

The F30/30 program has two sections - International and Indian Youth. The International Youth section will compete for the Golden Comma Award and the Indian Youth section will compete for the Silver Comma Award. Both sections will have a Fiction and Non-fiction category. Please read the rules below carefully before submitting your films.
